In the honor of gordo I create this climate battle between the climate he lives in and hates and a western European cool-winter climate that can see some snow but generally has low-sun gloomy quite dry winters.
Moving on from the coastal Liverpool (NS)/Liverpool (ENG) battle I move slightly farther inland. Moncton is one of the snowiest cities as far as I am aware, with Bremen having a chilly climate located at 53 N. It has colder winters than England, but warmer winters than in more sheltered areas of Europe. That results in frequent frosts, but a lack of freezing days and hence unreliable and short snowfall. Summers are cooler than in Moncton, in spite of it being helped by its status 50 km east of the harbor at Bremerhaven.
So: which climate is better? The snowy continental climate of Moncton or the semi-continental maritime gloomy Bremen climate? I feel the summers are very influential in my choice, and with Moncton not having that cold winter days - as long as I have a good pair of skis it should be alright. But having said that, Bremen doesn't have that cool summers. It's a very tough choice and that's why I chose this one. But with a 51-49 margin I choose Moncton because of the very pleasant summer period
Bremen is pretty decent, but for me as a cyclist it frankly doesn't matter too much about the winters just above freezing, because below 10 C in Western Europe it's unbikeable because of the strong wind. Tonight here in Sweden it was freakazoid bad because of the wind.

Therefore I may as well just don the skis
Gordo can verify this but Moncton can also get quite windy too. They have some wicked storms in winter there... some back to back. I wouldn't count on much skiing.

The main problems for Moncton in the winter isn't the wind it's the snow and cold. I also bike quite a bit but if it's like below 8 C forget it. If it's warmer but very windy I don't usually bike. What I do like is rain and wind storms.
Skiing actually would be great between lulls in storms but there's only hills around here. With a few exceptions the greatest skiing is in the western Canada including near Vancouver.
Moncton is one of the best climates in North America east of the Great Lakes area.
Judging by your dream climate I'm not surprise you like it. If you're a snow lover Moncton is paradise.
