But parts of southern & western Ireland have record lows similar to Auckland, even higher in some areas. If New Zealand was located there it would be very mild still, maybe not as mild as currently but things like citrus certainly wouldn't be dead as they can even grow in milder parts of the UK...
It doesn't make any difference if they look different, if the climate was similar enough then the same plants would be able to grow, as many of they already do.
I don't think there would be any citrus in Auckland - based of the OP's map,Auckland would be at the latitude the north of Scotland.
Even my climate would be lucky to have any - even if they could grow, I don't think there would be any fruit.

Yes obviously the south Island would be milder, my point was that not all the plants that currently grow in New Zealand would be dead as lots of native NZ plants already grow in Ireland & even the west of Scotland...
One thing that could help predict this is Darksy.net. I also have to mention that the Gulf Stream is quite powerful and this New Zealand is a bit closer to North America so the west coast would get this influence unlike the real New Zealand.
