Okay, here is a direct question: Those cool southeasterlies (that actually come from the antarctic), are they "icy" for you? Because they're actually more polar influenced than "icy westerlies".

Also, Jgtheone is right. Quote the multiple posts in one post. Now all of the recent content about Australia's climate is a page away.

I must say I did not find the last two days depressing at all. Despite the low temps, it still felt a lot like summer. It must have something to do with the low temps. And today is pretty nice too, slightly over 30C.

I didn't too. In fact, the temps were perfect and very comfortable. And we needed that refreshing change. It's just the lingering moderate rainfall that annoyed me. I prefer short, heavy "outburst" of rain. Day long rainfall are miserable and they usually end in catastrophe. That's why I prefer drizzles to go for a day instead. At least, they don't harm you.

A colleague of my family friend got hit by a car a few days ago (in that rainy day). The car slid off the wet road and smashed the lady as she was standing on the curb. She died. And another incident like this happened a few years ago when we had a rainy day with another casualty of a woman, a mother who was with her son (we didn't know her, but she was in our suburb).

But then again, we only got like 45mm in the past three days. Which isn't much, considering that we can receive as much as dreaded 70mm in one day!

Minimum of 5.5°C today at the airport, heading for 30°C. I'm actually not a fan of such diurnal ranges, it's too cold in the morning for it to be 30°C later.

5C? Whaaaat? And a sweltering 30C in the afternoon?

Really didn't expect that there, let alone in Australia.

Similar to North Island east coast yesterday , but in reverse. Locations around Hastings seeing 32C dropping to 3.3C, and 29.5C dropping to 2.6C.

Wow, that's madness. Did or a cold front move through or did they do that through radiational cooling?

That's much worse

Thankfully there will be no more days like these in the foreseeable future.
