Izmit has very humid winters though. So maybe our perceptions would differ. Our 10C can be accompanied by dry air, with RH below 55%. The dry air kinda stabs your skin. A foggy or damp 10C just feels a bit chilly, but not "painful" per se.

Are we getting closer to January every day? 7 months left. I must start counting days. I miss January since it is the coldest month.

I like winter too, but I hate how you're more likely to get sick in it.

Warmest temperature recorded during Pentecost in Norway:

33.8°C / 92.8°F at Saltdal, on June 11th, 2011.
Source: https://twitter.com/Meteorologene/st...56316859944960

On that day, Saltdal was the warmest station in Europe - warmer than all the mediterranean countries. Considering Saltdal is north of the Arctic Circle this is rather insane! Three days above 30°C in the first half of June that month.

The upper part of that valley (where the weather station was situated) has a very special microclimate, still low elevation (81 m) but at the same time sheltered by the Saltfjell-Svartisen mountain massif, with precip ca 300 mm /year.

It is the only station north of the Arctic Circle in Norway with avg high 20°C in the warmest month using more recent years than the old 1961-90.
Infoclimat actually has it at 21°C / 70°F in the warmest month, but I'm not sure how good that data is and how many years it is based on, and the record high in Jan and Mar are BS.

It looks like it will be difficult for İzmit to break the record high we had in Early May this year

In Early May, we had a high of 33.4*C. Yesterday we had a high of 30.6*C. Today we had a high of 31*C. It looks like it will be difficult to break 33.4*C in first 15 days of June which we had in Early May.

Today I was home but yesterday I was outside and that 30.6*C felt too hot to me. In Early May when we had a high of 33.4*C but It did not feel that hot. Yesterday humidity must have been very high because It rained yesterday. Also that 30.6*C felt really too hot. A lot of people were complaining about it. I was sweating like crazy.

June has come but Göle still have very cold lows in Turkey.

Göle had a low of +1.2*C on 1st June 2017
Göle had a low of -0.9*C on 2nd June 2017
Göle had a low of +0.6*C on 3rd June 2017
Göle had a low of +0.7*C on 4th June 2017
Göle had a low of +1.7*C on 5th June 2017

So far, the lowest temperature of June 2017 was -0.9*C in Göle. Let's say -1*C.

You should have seen Göle in winter. Plenty of days with lows around -30*C. Göle is Turkish Siberia

It sucks that our met office doesn't publish Göle's averages. Göle is colder than Ardahan

Göle had a high of 23.7*C on 6th June 2017. Day and Night temperature difference is too much.

It warms up a lot in Day Time but it cools off a lot in Night time.
