Man I am so glad I spent this Christmas in the northwest. 70s in Denton again on Christmas?? Hell naww. How come Denton, Texas had white Christmases in 2009 and 2012 before I moved here and now it wants to be all warm and Miamish. Speaking of Miami... lord have mercy down there. They ain't getting nothing until friday then its warming up again.

I really hope later in the season we get a good cold snap and some snow in the lower plains. I need muh snow fix!

I was close this year, I was in Gervais, Oregon and there was frost in the morning, everything was white. But no snow... I plan to go to Minneapolis next Christmas so hopefully there will be my first white Christmas.

There's only one good Christmas song thats a tropical theme. And that's Mele kalekemaka. Otherwise, the best ones are about snowy scenery and jingle bells. Ain't nobody wanna hear about no beaches!
Summers arent long enough here believe me. I wish they lasted all year To me Christmas is just another holiday as I dont really have any immediate family to spend it with and my extended family lives far away. If I am going to have time off from work, I would rather spend it in a place I like such as a tropical climate

I agree, I hate cold weather, but snow between December 24 and January 7 is fine by me

I would prefer an Austin winter with the swings any day over somewhere that is constant 50s along CA coast somewhere.

Why? With constant 50's you can get used to that. It's not too cold to need a ton of heat (although you need a little) and you can get by with a light jacket for the most part (especially since the night is usually also in the 40's/50's).

Here you can't get used to anything. Let me give you an example Thursday was sunny and 63. Friday was cold, cloudy, and windy with a high of 31 and winds of 25 MPH. Wednesday will be sunny and 80.

During this time San Jose has been in the upper 50's with lows in the lower 50's to upper 40's the whole time and rain chances everyday.

The rainy season is a nice contrast in California, totally different than the dry season and gives a nice yin-yang effect.

Now that's funny!

The coastal south is the best region in north america if you love sailing and the coasts. Sea temps are awful for sailing most of the year with california but nice air temps.

Most of Florida isnt bipolar, this is the best time of the year to be in Florida. Sea temps still warm, gorgeous time of the year. Northern California and Southern california is bad all year long for sea temps but very nice air temps. I have lived in both but the coastal south is the best for sailing , salt life and sea temps and coastal life by a huge margin
