I do not think there is a topic about this two European and American tourist cities. For a start the climate can be compared using this site for old data: Honolulu, Oahu vs Santa Cruz, Tenerife Climate & Distance Between.

Tenerife is not in Europe but in Africa! In a climate battle, the data is always welcomed, let me be your guest:

Tenerife https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenerife#Climate
Honolulu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honolulu#Climate

I will make the same comment as I made in the San Diego v Honolulu thread: I choose Tenerife for being much comfier and way more pleasant, summers are bearable and not muggy unlike in Honolulu, humidity is lower especially during summer months which is ideal imho.

Honolulu is quite closer to the Equator, that makes it much warmer and way too tropical, basically non-stop A/C weather for 12 months. Honolulu is ideal for 24/7 sea bathing tho, and their SSTs are warmer as well. Santa Cruz is in the northern part of Tenerife so it's cool to bathe during 2-3 months. Santa Cruz might be also too dry for many people.

The only con I see is slightly lower sunshine hours, sunshine hours are 3035 in Honolulu and 2887 in Santa Cruz, making Honolulu sunnier with 148 additional hours but it might be slightly cloudier if the sunshine measurements are taken with the American standards.

Anyways, Honolulu isn't bad either. Taking Köppen's thresholds, Honolulu has the best tropical climate I found at the moment.

I choose Honolulu for being wetter and more humid than Tenerife.

Neither are very good, but Honolulu is more wet so I'll go with that one.

My chosen spot is Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Very nice sunshine, dry weather, balmy all year long. Can be occasionally hot at times with the Saharian wind...

Honolulu might be too sticky, muggy for me.

They're both nice. I can live in either of them.

It's hard to choose. I prefer Santa Cruz's cooler winter temperatures but it is unfortunately even drier than Honolulu.

Honolulu vs. San Diego was hard as well. If only I could choose San Diego in winter and Honolulu in summer.

Really unsure for both battles. The precipitation difference doesn't seem that significant so maybe Santa Cruz by a very narrow margin.
