The Atacama is nearly as sunny as the eastern Sahara, but the latter is the number one ! It has the highest annual mean frequency of clear skies, according to NASA, so it's the sunniest place on Earth, given that sandstorms are exceedingly rare over there !
According to some climatological data based from 14.9 years of weather reports (Infoclimat) ; Calama, Chile experiences a mean annual cloudiness of 1.375 tenth (1.1 okta) while Aswan, Egypt only experiences a value of 0.5 tenth (0.4 okta) !

Not sure if the Wiki statistics are wrong, but the box says Wadi records 3600 hrs of annual sunshine. So not sure about that.
The Atacama is definitely the sunniest place in the world, particularly the Calama area. Definitely not Yuma, which will be on par with
Dampier Western Australia actually at 3700 hours or so.
