I used to save the weather page every day during the summer months. From The Los Angeles Times. Mainly to follow Death Valley.

I found the records for the year 2006. A very hot year for Death Valley and, in fact, for most of inland Southern California. Here are some of the day-by-day temps at Death Valley (some days are missing and I did not save the entire summer).

2006 was the year of that terrible heat wave we had in July. Woodland Hills reached 119 degrees, which if I'm not mistaken, is a record for Los Angeles County. It was both miserably hot and humid.

Death Valley should see some beautiful wildflowers this spring from all the rain.
