I've been holding off saying this for awhile but I really think there's a problem with the temperature sensor at MIA. If it wasn't an official station run by the NWS I would assume that the thermometer was incorrectly exposed to the sun but I don't see how they could make a mistake like that. I've noticed that over the past month it records similar temperatures to nearby official and personal weather stations but on sunny or even partly cloudy days it records high temperatures 2-5F higher than what would be expected when compared to forecasts, atmospheric conditions, and similar locations. Would you recommend that I contact the NWS or that I just let them discover and correct the problem, if there is any?
I'd say it's worth a try, from what you described it sounds as if it's malfunctioning, that happened in Washington, DC (KDCA) back in 2015 I think, I forgot exactly how that played out though.
It could also be due to poor/not ideal sitting, the ASOS is located at the southeastern end of the airport, not too far away from development (which includes a massive highway/interchange).
I've e-mailed the webmaster for my NWS district a couple of times regarding issues.
Recently, missing data was being shown for a day when the weather station at the airport had a communications issue. I sent the webmaster an e-mail and he responded and fixed the info the next day.

I e-mailed my local NWS. How long did it take them to get back to you?
It's Miami airport lol, they probably won't reply.
