The temperatures this month have been pretty boring, especially compared to this past February. The way things are going, the warmest February and March temperatures could be warmer than the warmest April temperature. The funny thing is, we're supposed to have a random cool day with a high of 60 on Saturday, but everything before and after will continue the trend of highs in the 70s. This could wind up being the first April with a max temp more than 5°F colder than both the February and March max temps.

And dude you're just proving my point more. Why do you keep mentioning 2014 or 2015 but ignore all the recent warmth? That's like 2-3 years ago now, you have to move on. Is it gonna be 2034 and you're still mentioning those years? Lol.
It isn't just those years for me, just last month we had our coldest temp of the year in addition to a full-on blizzard, and this is after temps in the 70's. Not nearly as bad as 2014 or 2015, but still quite annoying. Last May was horrendous, we had the cloudiest/foggiest/dampest stretch of weather I've ever experienced (by leaps and bounds). We just can't seem to get a good 3 month stretch of decent spring weather lately, we're getting about 1-1.5.

I hate to complain as it's been mostly above normal, but arctic outbreaks and wintry weather in spring is never a good thing imo. Backdoor cold fronts suck too. This April has been pretty decent, however.

Considering that they were record cold, probably yes lol. Don't worry, I'll be mentioning the glorious November/December 2015 and March 2012 and February 2017 and April 2017

I'm experiencing the opposite of that after December 2015 and February 2017. I no longer have any desire to live further south.

Impressive. Will a year pass without any monthly heat record from that region? I wonder what May will bring to the Indus valley this year...

To even things out a bit, here are some monthly records beaten today in northern France (from CG's port on the Europe thread). Strange to beat the cold record on April 20:

-8.8°C in Mourmelon
-5.4°C in Beauvais
-4.4°C in Arras

Also a notable -6.7°C in Charleville but the April record is safe at -8.5°C.

I'm making the call to everyone in the area.. Early Plant Out year!

Dreary today and tomorrow. Saturday best day of weekend. No freeze or frost threats for southern CT. Inland, pockets, and northern CT frost possible still but overall, I think it's going to be an early planting year! Jet stream staying well north in Canada so no real shots of cold anywhere in the U.S

Over 1/4" of rain since yesterday evening.

Radar and temp loop last 4 hours. 1:45-5:45am April 20, 2017.
