I may need to increase the speedometer. Winds are ripping out there. Damn! My station just picked up a 50mph gust. Mostly coming from the West

Our warmest was May 1977. We had 12 days at or above 90 degrees.

Pretty incredible that we saw an EF3 tornado this February

Euro wants nothing to do with below average temps for the Midwest in the 11-15 day

By average high may 1953 is warmest at +6 degrees above average, unlike April though coldest may is also -6. Really pathetic if you ask me, we can easily get a +8 anomaly at least.

Question, how reliable are short range models ( RGEM, HRRR, NAM) for Temps compared to long range? I imagine short range models are better.

HRRR only goes out 24hrs I believe and is good because its a High Resolution and good for storm stuff.

RGEM only goes out 2 days.
NAM goes out 5 days and used to have a warm bias but I believe got adjusted.

So we can't really compare temps since 2 of those don't do long range. lol

Here is some data from May 1977 from stations across the Chicago metro area. Some spots further away from the cool waters of Lake Michigan had an average high of 85F/29C

Only 11 AM and it's already 84 F with a 68 F dew point, it's said to be in the upper 80s today with a 50% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Is it March 2nd or June 2nd? lol

27F here right now, which apparently is only 2F below average! I forgot how cold our Marches are. The northern parts of Upstate are just in the teens, Montreal is supposed to hit -19C tomorrow! Nasty
