How often is ORD the warmest station? I bet not very often right?
It's not often at all. In fact it usually records one of the cooler highs (away from the lake that is). In the spring however it can beat MDW if lake breezes are occurring as MDW is 9 miles from the lake while ORD is 12 miles. So far this spring ORD has had a higher avg max than MDW, with more 70F+ days.
A record cold day in raleigh, record low max is 58. High was 61 at midnight, daytime only hit 57 so a record cold day in theory though it won't be that way on paper.... wtffffffff 2 mays in a row with exceptionally cold days, come on 50s in mid may at 35.5 degrees north... oh well, next week has multiple 90 degree days forecast...

Do trees bloom noticeably later during spring along the lake shore? When I went in March, everything was still pretty brown and dead everywhere aside from a few bushes that were budding. Of course, I didn't expect much blooming in March anyways.

Haven't really paid that much attention tbh. Even though the lakefront see cooler highs they don't get as cold at night. I wonder which affects trees more?
PNA may go positive as we approach June. I'm telling you, this is summer 2009 all over again. Wet spring, building El Nino, and a +PNA all led to one of the coolest summers on record here.
