NWS Gray forecast discussion (New Hampshire / most of Maine)

Do not expect temperatures to warm very much during the day
Saturday as the cold air will be firmly in place. Continued
mixing will allow strong winds to continue and thus Wind Chill
Advisories and Warnings will need to remain in place through the
day. Daytime highs may not make it above zero in the far north
and will struggle to reach double digits even toward the coast
.
Daily high temperatures will likely occur near midnight at most
areas. It will be downright brutal out there. The cold and wind
continue into Saturday night with slightly colder temperatures
and slightly less wind. Have extended the wind chill headlines
through Sunday morning as the brutally cold wind chills will
continue.

I always thought that Panama City was too cold of a choice for Spring Break, and that South FL would be much more ideal for beach weather

coldest max for Lancaster, New Hampshire in early March is -2°F on March 4, 2003 and March 7, 2007. Shouldn't be that cold, but should break the daily record.

Impressive departure on March 7, 2007: daily average of -14°F, -36.5°F below normal. Three days earlier it had a high of 45°F. March 6, 2007 Mt. Washington had a max of -19°F, low of -37°F. For both places, those March temperatures were colder than any reached in recent Januarys or Februarys. Impressively mild to cold and back this month:

weird that March cold doesn't show up as having maximums around 0:

In mid March it's not bad with average highs well into the 70s with water Temps of 20-21c generally. Myrtle Beach is a popular spring break destination in April with colder averages.

Well into the 70s? Aren't normal March highs in Panama City, FL in the upper 60's to mid 70's F and with lows in the upper 40's to mid 50's F? That is too cold for the beach IMO.

Compare to Miami where normal highs in March are in the upper 70's to low 80's F with lows in the low to mid 60's F. That's what I think of for beach weather

I'm talking about mid March, there average high by then is pushing mid 70s. I think it's 73 or 74 today, not sure. It's fine for spring beach weather imo...

Wikipedia shows a normal March high of 71.6°F, and that would be for the 15th, so I think 73/74 would be more likely by the END of the month, considering the April high is 77.5°F
