Los Angeles native and I give the edge to LA due to lower humidity and more sunshine hours.
My preference in LA is the downtown/USC area for the best climate in the LA area. Warmer, sunnier and lots of less fog than the coast.
As was noted up thread, the LAX/coastal parts of LA are too foggy and cool for my taste. If the choice was right on the coast, I'd give it to Casablanca.
Los Angeles for all the microclimates with hotter summers with average highs in the 90s and 100s. Even the coast gets over 100 at times. Everywhere in Los Angeles can easily get over 90 in winter which is hotter than London in their summer months.

Yep, Los Angeles rivals dallol. Can hardly tell the 2 apart. What does London have to to do with this
LA weather is often glorified, especially by people from colder/grey countries.
The fact is it simply is too hot on too many days (unless you live somewhere 5 miles within the Pacific). The burning sun every day gets tiring very quickly. Sometimes it reaches 30C in February. And all the eletric shocks resulting from the dryness is not pleasant either.
Yes, for someone who travels once or twice from Boston or Lonon to LA in January for a few days, of course it feels fantastic. I would prefer if LA were a coupe of degrees coolder and a bit more cloudy, especially in the summer.
