Yeah, I think many people who like one extreme or the other assume they will like a climate far more extreme than the one the person enjoyed. For example, someone liked when their city had a rare drop to 0° F, so they claim to like a climate with an average winter low of -40° F. I love cold climates, but I would not want temperatures consistently well into the negatives °F.

It annoys me when people hate any sight of cold, largely because that factor caused my parents to move to Florida with me, a climate and state which I hate. It also annoys me when these people complain about rain or summer heat, when most of them moved to Florida for the weather. I think the average person (without a personal interest in weather) likes the Southern California coastal climate the best of any in the US, although cost of living and personal ties prevent most people from actually moving there.

The one thing that truly annoys me is when people blatantly lie or tell half-truths about their climate.

Except B87 when he says London averages 23.5'C in July when everybody knows London actually only averages about 22'C because of the UHI.

One thing

People who would say on city data forum that Muş has hot summers but İzmit has normal summers just because İzmit has cooler average highs in Summer

First of all,
Do you know how dry the heat in continental parts of Turkey is? İzmit is very humid (Oceanic Climate). The heat in Muş is dry as ****. There is no humidity in Muş

Second of all,
Look at how much Muş cools off at night (it has cooler average lows in Summer)

People preferring hot weather over cold, especially during the winter time. We get all these northerners who come down here and go on about how great this heat and humidity is in the middle of December. But they're the first to cry when it actually does get cold.

People's addiction to the sun. When you are living in a sunny to somewhat sunny climate and it's cloudy for a couple of days and people act like it's a crisis that they didn't see the sun for 48 hours and start talking about how they are TERRIBLY depressed and how horrible it is that there are all those AWFUL clouds.

Ugh. Who the he!! wants it sunny constantly? Or even sunny most of the time? Don't you know that evil eye in the sky causes cataracts, wrinkles and melanoma?

Another one is something I see up here in the snowbelt of all places and that is people crying about the snow when it falls and moaning about how it's terrible. Are they serious? I can see (but not fully understand) someone complaining about snow if they live in an area that generally doesn't get it...but come on, the annual average here is around 10 feet so it seems kind of a given that there is going to be snow--lots of it--every year. Why do they stay here if they are just gonna fuss over the weather? Go move to somewhere dry and sunny if ya don't like snow and clouds...ha ha
