I don't think I've ever seen one here, but then I'm not exactly full of knowledge when it comes to green things. I can tell the difference between a tree and an aircraft carrier, but that's about it.
I know there aren't too many palms here, but you'll still see them on most streets. They just don't tend to be very big at all. I guess our winter is too cold in comparison to London and the SE. We have of course been as low as -17C here in recent years, which I'm sure doesn't help.
According to Wiki, Visby in Gotland has over 2000 hours of sunshine yearly. Krakow Poland gets only about 1300. Is that for real? In the winter Krakow gets the same amount with longer days (I guess it's overcast most of the time).
I really don't care much about cold as long as you get some clear/semi-clear days.
Do you think Visby and Aland would be better places to live for someone coming from Sofia, Bulgaria (over 2000 hours of sunshine yearly) than Poland and Germany? I was depressed all the time in the UK and Belgium and I'm deciding between Poland, Germany, Sweden or Finland for a job.
