Sydney had its hottest summer on record, beating out 1991. It's the second summer where the mean min of each month exceeded 20C (the first was 1991). There were no 40+ days in the city, but there were 11 35+ days which is probably a record. In the west, a max temp of 47.0C was recorded in Richmond (Feb 11), one of the hottest ever days in the Sydney region.

Dec 28.1/20.0; 65.0mm
Jan 29.6/21.6; 48.4mm
Feb 28.5/21.0; 205.2mm

Mean 28.7/20.9; 318.6mm

I reckon it was a pretty excellent summer, here's hoping we get more of the same in the coming years. Of course, 1991 was followed by the coolest summer in almost 30 years so anything could happen really.

With a mean of 32.7, it was the 6th warmest winter. 2015-2016 was the 4th warmest at 33.0 and 2011-2012 was the 7th warmest at 32.4. All 3 months were above average and February was record warm. December had more snow than January and February combined. All 3 months were wetter than average. The highest temp was 67 in February and the lowest was 7 in January. The min of 7 was the 4th highest on record behind 1931-1932, 1936-1937 and 1889-1890. I'll provide more detail later.

PWS:

Dec: 13.3/27.0, 54mm
Jan: 15.1/28.3, 24mm
Feb: 13.3/27.3, 33mm

Avg: 13.9/27.5, 111mm

Melb Airport:

Dec: 12.7/26.3, 77mm
Jan: 14.7/27.6, 23mm
Feb: 12.9/26.7, 30mm

Avg: 13.4/26.9, 130mm

I don't keep averages of seasons, so I'm going to guess that the temperatures are close to average and the rainfall is slightly above due to December.

Buenos Aires 2016-2017 summer:
(1981-2010 comparison)

Mean: 25.2ºC* (+1.3)
Avg min: 20.4ºC (+1.1)
Avg max: 30.4ºC (+1.3)
Pp: 344 mm (-40.8 mm)

*I have yet to confirm the mean temp calculation result, wich may have been 25.1 or 25.2.
In either case, this summer ended as the 3rd warmest on record, behind only 1988-1989 and the past one.
However, the absolut max (35.6ºC) wast the lowest since the 2009-2010 summer.

a mild winter. the snow-total is pathetic. there usually is at least one or two significant snowfalls, even under warm winters. not so this year.
