Every time I check the forecast the total keeps going up. 5-8 > 8-12 > now 12+

If this is correct, this would at minimum be the biggest March storm snowfall total since 1960 in NYC central park, and the 2nd biggest ever after March 10, according to http://www.weather.gov/media/okx/Cli...Snowstorms.pdf

No fee for either flight, but I did have to wait until they announced it.

Would love to stay, but SIL and his family are coming from Japan and our time with them is limited, didn't want to lose another day or two. There will always be more snow...eventually lol.

Doesn't happen often..only with really big storm threats.

Hurricane hunters flying over the Atlantic to drop and get more atmospheric data to feed the models and get better details for this potential blizzard .

new GFS out; sticks with a big snowstorm (1.2-1.7" of liquid water equivalent) for a lot of the interior, coast gets more rain than snow.

NAM: Storm comes on land. Rain coast, snowstorm interior
Canadian: shifted West & now isn't too far for little impact.
GFS: Storm moves over Eastern MA with storm track.

New Euro.. Ridiculous!!!! 983mb storm near benchmark. About a 24hr Storm. Wind gusts 50-60mph near the coasts.

This has Blizzard written all over it from Philly to Boston.. Would be a Memorable & possible historic March snowstorm.

Snow total from latest Euro run

Closeup using 15:1 ratios.

I opened my shades this morning and forgot I had a snowpack. Doesn't feel or look like March for sure!!

Maps aren't updated yet so here is a list of snowtotals from yesterdays March 10th snow event.

In Connecticut. General 3-5" across the state with localized areas with more or less.

In Massachusetts & Rhode Island. Wide range of totals in MA looks like Barnstable (Eastern most county) got the most with 4-8". Rhode Island with a general 3-5"
