Spring 2010. February was 11 degrees below average. March was 6 degrees below average. I remember that February we didn't hit 60 until the 20th which is pretty late for us.
2013 featured a warmer than average January, slightly cooler than avg February and a 9 degree below average March that ended up having the same average high as January!
2015 was technically a slight lag for late winter with February being the coldest since 2010 and 10 degrees below average. BUT, we hit March and it was like a switch was flipped. March was just a tip above average and the weather was generally great all of March and April.

Wow, that climate is absolute ****. If November was warmer than June here I'd probably blow my brains out.

Autumn, since heat and humidity continues through March. But it isn't that much of a "lag" since nights cool down and the month is still cooler than the previous ones.

We have "seasonal leads" and they're the worst (opposite of season lag). They happen in early spring (September-October) where you can get summery, desert heat and even bouts of thundery humid days. November can be much hotter than March, and I find that part annoying. I mean, jeez, let us experience the steady transition. Winter to summer is too drastic and bipolar here. But thankfully, last spring was really nice and gradual (mostly cool, crisp and sunny).

Their temperature range is so narrow that their lag is barely noticeable.

Btw, that climate reminds me of a slightly warmer San Francisco.

Autumn 2014 and 2016, if you were hoping for cooler weather (so not me lol) would've tested your patience, featuring only two and five days below 20C respectively. They would be decent summer months in some parts.

2014 | 2016 | 81-10 normals
March 26.4 | 26.8 | 25.4
April 23.8 | 24.7 | 23.3
May 23.2 | 22.9 | 20.6

Fall is hit or miss. I've only spent 2 falls so far. Fall 2015 was as follows

September: Hot and humid, still summery. I think our entire low was in the low 60s. (Note; I also travel a lot. The coolest I felt that month was about 62 in Cisco, Texas. Hottest I think around 100 in Denton, Texas.

October: Much cooler. We got a lot of rain thanks to hurricane Patricia. We also had some very hot but dry days. Halloween was nice and cool. Hottest was about 97 coldest about 48

Thanksgiving: Great. Mostly cool. We had our first frost and a lot of rain.

Fall 2016 was as follows;

September: Actually pretty nice. Late September brought a very nice cool front. Lows in the 50s. Didn't mind the hot days so much. I believe we had a day with a high of 69.

October: Awful. A few cool nights and one high in the 60s, otherwise oppressively hot and humid. Felt like Miami again.

November: Warmish but got cooler. We had our first frost on a similar date as 2015. Nothing special. Due to the long Indian summer, we had a lot of leaves that were late to change.

When I visited in November 2014 it got surprisingly cold. I visited west Texas.

I actually forgot we had summer seasonal lag in both 2001 with our hottest September on record, and in 2003 with a well above avg Sept and our hottest October on record

In Nashville;
2014- That was an awful year weather wise. So cold and rainy. We got snow in April that year. I don't remember that ever happening in the 16 years I've lived here.
September- I remember Septembers 2011 and 2012 being quite nice. They were both cooler than average. It felt great especially considering they both followed extremely hot summers. However, the last three Septembers were absolute crap. 95 with afternoon thunderstorms but sunny. I wanted to move to the arctic.

Just look at the September numbers for the thread below. Add to the fact that the hottest month on average has lower average highs than the September that year, then add in the fact that April that year had highs around 30C/86F on average. Not only there was a massive lag, but there was an early summer too!
