"Winter Storm Achilles" - 2 May 2013
I missed it because I was living in Ohio at the time. I would love to see such an unusual snow event.
Shift the storm track south a bit, though. Or north a bit. Both will work. (Wondering why? Here you go.)
Given May is almost 10C colder here that really amazes me it did happen considering the latest snowfall I've experienced is on April 27...
It was a cool experience though last year, especially with our late sunsets. I'd rather have something like that than a 4C high and torrential rain that happened on 1 May 2015 in Örebro
March 2012. Saw snow and cold at the beginning of the month, 70s and even 80 at the end, below average precipitation and warmer than an average April.
Late May through Mid October, 2016 was one of the best warm seasons I've experienced. Above average, some records set, below average precipitation and cool nights in June.
There's probably some other warm, dry and variable months that would be great too, but I don't feel like looking right now. There is march madness on after all...
13 inches of rain, and 10 of those inches fell in a 2 hour span. This storm is what made me buy a rain guage, prior to this storm I'd never seen a downpour sustain such intensity for more than a few minutes at a time, but this thing went for 2-3 hours straight. It was wild.
Any long streak of warm, sunny weather in the middle of winter will work just fine for me! Either that, or a long streak of below-average temperatures in July or August. The fewer the days where either the heater or the A/C needs to be used, the better.
July 1986, summer of 2000/2001. In the same year please.
