It does, it almost looks fake. Around here I've only seen water that blue at Montauk Point in eastern Long Island.

It seems though that LGA is the outlier when compared to other stations in NYC. Correct? At least in minimum temp..
Most impacted by the UHI?
Here's a recent study on NYC's UHI: http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10...326/aa6e59/pdf

LGA does recieve the most UHI influence, but not by much, Central Park is right on its heels. On page 4 there's a map that shows where the UHI is the strongest in NYC, the epicenter is actually in northwestern Queens, just south of LGA. Central Park is slightly further away from the epicenter than LGA, but still sits comfortably near the peak of the UHI. JFK's UHI influence is about half of LGA/Central Park's. I wish EWR was included in the study.

Central Park DID have a minimum of 63°F/17°C December 24th 2015 while LaGuardia only had a min of 59°F/15°C. And LaGuardia had a min of 84°F 6/23/1952 which also had a max of 101°F/38°C.

Current Surface Map. The Front had stalled over this area overnight, now finally passing through. What else is new. Damn Atlantic. Took forever getting here that's why was a warm muggy night while New England enjoyed the benefits of a passing front since yesterday morning

7am Temps this morning. Warm 70s out there.

7am Dews this morning. Muggy morning and overnight!

67° here at 8. Looks to be another hot and humid day, with a projected high of 83. Chance of storms again, but that won't even put a damper on the Penguins Stanley Cup victory parade!

Did you get any rain? Check out some rain totals. Very isolated except this morning a line across NYC and Long Island dropped 1/4-3/4".

Latest JAMSTEC is out... Wall to wall warmth this summer

Best start to June since 2012 First 14 days of June have an average high of 90F by me

Storm threat increases as heat and humidity persist | WGN-TV

Tropical-like day today. Scattered storms mainly between noon and 2pm

Wow, I never realized before posting on the weather forum how often Chicago's burbs hit 90. Has this been a normal start or is this year an outlier?

A few hours east, we just had our first 90 degree day yesterday, and it was only 90 for maybe 15 minutes before a storm rolled in and took us down to the low 70s.
