Ended up maxing out at a seasonable 84 F/29 C, but it was a bit higher than forecast. Humidity levels have been comfortable. Not bad this evening with a current temperature of 70 F/21 C and dewpoint of 58 F/14 C (10:40PM). Breezy.

It got up to 94F here today. It hasn't gotten past 94F yet this summer.

NWS forecasts low 90's for the next 7 days.

Athens, GA has had 15 days of 90°F temperatures so far this year, which is about the normal pace, but the maximum temperature is only 92°F. This summer isn't as stormy as 2013, but it's still been kind of lame so far. Athens had only 23 days of 90°F temperatures in 2013, but even it had a 95°F day in June.

Here are the monthly departure from normal temperatures in Athens for the first six months of 2017:

+8.0°F - January
+7.9°F - February
+2.5°F - March
+5.0°F - April
+0.4°F - May
-1.2°F - June

I hate mild winters, and I hate stormy summers. Needless to say, 2017 is well on its way to being one of the worst weather years I've ever experienced. The current worst weather year for me is probably 1990, which is the wettest year on record in Pittsburgh, with a tepid, stormy summer (only three 90°F days, a maximum of 94°F, and 26.61" of rain from May-September) bookended by a mild, virtually snowless beginning and end to the year (only 18.7" of snow for the entire calendar year).

July is roasting here in the eastern med! Syria is absolutely on fire! Amman just got done after 3 straight days over 100. Next few days are in mid 90s before we head up to triple digits again start of next week.

But syria is roasting man! So is Iraq

Why we need frequent bouts of rain here during the summer. Soil would dry up very quickly.
