"After August 6" that's the part that annoys me about our climate. Way too much summer seasonal delay Around July 10th or so would be optimal.

Interesting to see NYC and most of Long Island peak at July 24-30 (zoom way in) when surrounding areas peak earlier. I wouldn't mind an August peak though.

Actually, something like July 10-14 would be ideal. I guess July 10-16 is good enough.

I wouldn't mind a February cold peak in winter though.

We've passed our peak summer with a highest temp of 90 (in June)

Rochester reached a max of 79 after a min of 64--the 15th straight day remaining above 60.

Ithaca recorded close to an inch of rain and had a max/min of 77/64. There were 4 different times of rain where I was with 2 sun showers.

Southern New England coast July 24-30 while Coastal Virginia earlier July 10-16.

I also checked Indianapolis and the mean max temp peak isn't till mid-end of July yet the map says before July 10th. Peak Avg temp is end of July for them. What criteria is he using to come to this result?

Here are the max temps per day on record. Maybe he's using the mean max? While they hit 100s end of July looks like July 9th is the mean? Or maybe still looks like mid month not before July 10th

I think the criteria this map might be using is when the daily highest temperature of the year occurs on average, doesn't necessarily coincide with the hottest average temps in some cases I guess. I know down here, June is the month when we have the greatest shot at hitting 97+F for highs, but August is our hottest month on average.

Right now it's 81 F with a 78 F dew point here as of 7 AM, predicted high today is 94 F with heat indices as high as 106 F!
