81 F with a 72 F dew point as of 8 PM. Lots of crickets chirping loud and fast outside. How summer evenings should be.

I can't call this a bad start to summer

Weather Blog | WGN-TV

Cooler this week, especially near the lake, but warmer by the weekend. Could reach 90 degrees again.

You'll get hot too. Question is how long will it last? Are we in a more progressive pattern now? MJO moving into Phase 1-2, 2 being a stronger heat signal for the east.

Yup, been saying this since the end of May "have to wait till after June 10th for heat in Northeast". It's fun seeing the future. But some people still expect it to be 85.774°F at 11:35:20am otherwise the models are wrong. lol Gotta stop looking for exacts.

Yeah, might not last long ... That's still too far to say for sure. Afterwards we can flatten out into a zonal flow. Everyone will be near normal across U.S with exception of a few hot pocket areas

The 5-10 day forecast looks pretty likely... The 11-15 day maybe not because the GFS has been so poor as of late in the longer range.

Euro showing 100F+ in the Dakotas on Saturday

GFS on it as well... that area has received very little rain, ground bone dry. Wouldnt doubt 95+
