It can ruin your shoes, especially if you are in a rural area.

As long as it's not a monsoon type rain it doesn't affect me at all. But some people like my mother, can barely drive when it's not raining, much less when the streets are wet.

In a rural area you don't wear shoes, you wear boots. Vibram soles, 8" oiled leather uppers. They will last for years.

What these posters said ^, particularly the increased chances of getting into a car accident when it rains. A light rain doesn't bother me much, but when it's raining heavily, especially if it's after dark, your visibility is impaired when you're driving, increasing the chances that you might get into an accident. I don't worry so much about crashing my own car as I do about some idiot crashing into me. Here in Raleigh, there are a surprising number of car accidents that occur when the weather is perfect - lots of sunshine and dry roads - and I'm always amazed by the number of people that still manage to get into crashes in good weather. Add some rain into the mix and I'd rather not risk being out on the roads if I can avoid it.

My mother used to insist that we children go out and play in the rain, even when it was pouring. To this end, she taught us how to dress warmly and stay dry.

Even so, feet get wet. And this too taught a lesson. How to not be a baby. Unless you are lost in the woods, you will have dry feet by the end of the day.

They're a bunch of babies I love the rain even when it can be a nuisance.

I had my first ever concert in pouring summer rain. Funny thing is, it started off very hot and sunny and I had my shirt off and sprayed on sunblock and then out of nowhere it was a hardcore downpour. I won't lie, it did suck as I got soaked, there were massive puddles and the worst part was riding the train home at night, completely wet. However it also made it more memorable in the end.

One of my favourite summer things is swimming in the rain when it starts to thunder. Don't wanna stay in too long but just long enough for it to be exciting. The water gets so nice and warm. What really IS a problem though is having to cancel a water park trip due to thunderstorms. But in general I love rain, even when I don't.
