We all know the reasons why this occurs but surely this can't be beaten? Inukjuak is further damaged by devastating west-east air flow in summer on a cold-water Hudson Bay shore that never warms. This is just devastating a comparison!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inukjuak#Climate (58.27 N)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm#Climate (59.22 N)

Mean temp gap for one degree south being colder:

Jan: 23.2C/41.7F
Feb: 24.1C/43.3F
Mar: 22.4C/40.3F
Apr: 17.7C/31.8F
May: 13.6C/24.4F
Jun: 11.1C/20.0F
Jul: 9.4C/16.9F
Aug: 8.4C/15.1F
Sep: 7.6C/13.7F
Oct: 8.0C/14.4F
Nov: 10.4C/18.7F
Dec: 19.2C/34.5F

The reason I choose Stockholm is:

1, it's not right on the Gulf Stream
2, Bergen and to a greater extent Tórshavn and Lerwick not to mention Iceland have no summers to speak of, whereas Stockholm is just as warm as much of the East Bay Area in July...

Can anyone find something as ridiculous between Canada/Eastern Siberia and Northern Europe in terms of latitudal anomalies?

Rediculous planet as foreignor civilizations would've said!

Definitely not.

Röst is a million time more anomalous relative to latitude than Stockholm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%B8st#Climate

Stockholm is quite typical to the latitude on its continent.

I know but:

Röst is at sea and therefore has no summer. Överkalix and Rovaniemi have much warmer summers than Röst has. It's a fair comparison to say that it's a latitudal anomaly relative to Inukjuak, but frankly I'd say given there's a parting mountain range in between I'd say some place like Skellefteå (where I've spent a lot of time in summers) is more remarkable than Röst

That's a more funny one than Röst vs Inukjuak. I'm more talking similar latitudes because comparisons are funnier!

Magadan by the ocean vs Turku is also a good one!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magadan#Climate
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turku#Climate

Coast vs coast (59N vs 60N)! I've always been amused by the picture of the beach-goers in Magadan in that article

Here's one, pretty much exactly the same latitude:

Schefferville, Quebec (54°48') is colder than Kaliningrad, Russia (54°42') by:

23.0C Jan
21.7C Feb
17.9C Mar
14.5C Apr
11.5C May
7.3C Jun
5.9C Jul
6.2C Aug
7.2C Sep
9.8C Oct
13.1C Nov
20.8C Dec

The thing about this one is that Kaliningrad is coastal, Schefferville well inland, and still the latter is much colder in summer.

Holy smokes. I thought Barrow Alaska is bad, but this one is a whole new level.

Astonishing records, 16c 60f in december and one month only 0.6c 33f. Crazy stuff.
