So the UK does have a winter then.

When I worked down in Antarctica, people mostly talked out two seasons, summer and winter, one being colder than the other. I guess at the South Pole, where you have 6 months of sunshine and 6 months of darkness, there's cold and friggin' cold!

I said if the diurnal range was big enough which isn't the case for most cities in England and Wales.

London is definetly a 4 season climate...

This is a good example of a 2 season climate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alicante#Climate

This is a good example of a 1 season climate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Hierro#Climate (eternal spring)

We have summer and autumn and spring, I guess. Our winters aren't winters by international standards. So a three season climate for Melbourne.

London is 100% a 4 season climate.

Anyone saying otherwise has never spent a year here.

Anywhere outside the tropics has 4 seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter (to variable degrees), anywhere within the tropics has 2, Wet or Dry (to variable degrees), saying London doesn't have 4 distinct seasons is just plain daft!

I think than Žabljak in Montenegro is an example of 3 season https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Žabljak#Climate
Summers in Žabljak are not real summers, but something like spring.
