Meh you can find similar landscapes in northern Cali:

I also find the Sierra Nevada (the one in CA) a decent enough response to the supposedly unmatchable Pyrenees. I have no idea what to vote for as both Spain and California are very diverse but I'm voting CA just because it has no designated salesperson on here, which is unfair.

California has magnificent mountain landscapes, more than a match for the Pyrenees.

Those are similar to the Pyrenees.

But not to the oceanic landscapes of Spain

California (specifically SoCal) for being more consistent and mild.

Spain has really good climates though.

I vote for Spain.
Because Spain is more diverse.
San Diego, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco and other cities in California has pretty similar climate (especially in winter).
This is not the case with Spanish cities.

California, because I'm not sure anywhere in Spain (barring very high elevations) have a climate like Bodie or Lake Tahoe.

Completely true! It has also some extreme dry and hot climates like those ones from the Death Valley. More than 46.9ºC/116.5F every day? Who would like that.

No place in Cali has Cfa, Cfb, Dfb or Dfc climates (Oceanic, Humid Subtropical and types of humid continental climates).

I don't know why some people say that they are pretty similar and variated if Cali hasn't got a single humid climate, although in the north some places are very humid with Csb climates and pretty green, but still with a defined dry season in the summer. No oceanic for example, which is probably the climate with the greenest landscapes. Spain has also a few zones with humid subtropical climates.

13 Köppen climates in Spain vs 10 in California. But California has a Csc climate which is very similar to a Dsb one, no humid continental/subtropical instead.

wow, I thought you liked 4 well defined seasons climates, with cold winters and hot summers, Spain has a few of those.

A climate similar to Lake Tahoe can be found in the north of Spain (south side of the Pyrenees) near Viella, Arró, Bossost... In a bit less altitude than Lake Tahoe.

CA wins it by far.

Nothing in Spain can match the redwoods:

mountains (sequoia forest):

Nor can anything in Spain match the coastal scenes in California:

Marshland (Delta) - almost looks like Holland:

These scenes range from forests to beaches to mountains to deserts to marshland.

How is this even a contest?

Btw California doesn't have a single chance, what about Oceanic or Continental (Pyrenees) landscapes??

The majority of California are shurblands, although the north is green, it's Mediterranean Csb forest, nothing to do with a Galician or Basque landscape... without counting that the mountains of California haven't got any chance with the Pyrenees.

Lommaren, you voted California because your dream climate is mild/warm in the summer and mild in the winter, but you didn't take account of the huge differences in the landscape and also for the people who like more continental climates, Cali has nothing to offer.

Spain has got Oceanic climates ...

This is not a Mediterranean Spanish vs California battle. This is an entire Spain vs California battle. California doesn't stand a single chance... Many of it's territory is arid and the greener is Csb...
Stop shilling for Spain. I am not going to go back on what I said, and most of Spain/California by land area is mediterranean. You can't deny this. Also I am not a big fan of Oceanic climates, I like med climates with lots of winter rain/hot summers. Portugal has these, and small bits of Spain, but California has a larger collection of them, which is why I voted for it.
