Unless that climate happens to be London or in SE England, in which case it seems to be expressly forbidden to discuss it at all.
If a climate has been covered, then a user wanting to create a "rate the climate" thread should instead comment on that thread, even if it's very old. If the climate hasn't been covered, I see no problem in creating a "rate the climate" thread, as long as all users follows the rule of not creating more than one per month.
How does every new member automatically seem to have regular-level understanding of our norms surrounding rate the climate threads, etc? Everyone immediately grasps onto the ABCDEF scale for rating climates, the purposes of different threads, etc. within their first few posts. Granted, I lurked for two years before joining, but does everybody seriously do that?
I think discussing climates of other places is interesting, especially when your own climate is like a pure disaster. It gets boring and pointless to talk about endless clouds and 35-45 degree weather for half a year, I'd rather talk about places like Uruguay, Australia, Argentina, the Balkans, etc. Those places have much more interesting climates

Wow, do you live next door to me? Because, yeah, here it is, heading into the 2nd week of May and it's dropping down into the 30's at night, barely hits 45 degrees during the day, and it's done nothing but rain since Monday -- and it's supposed to SNOW on Sunday.

This place sucks. I even found out that my area receives only averages around 72 days of sunshine per year. That's damn near 300 days of clouds, most of them associated with perma-drizzle that can literally go on for a month or more.

I beg to differ! I always get lots of F's on the climates I like! Obviously not everybody knows that F is the lowest rating and not the highest!
