When will London see it's first 80f of the year? (sunniest, wear)

So since you've been here, you've seen our cloudiest November (2015 ?), our cloudiest June (2016), and quite likely our cloudiest May on record!
I wasn't around in November 15 yet; spent a part of the incredibly mild December 15 here though (I recall going out one night and it was 15°C - some nights were noticeably warmer than Nice at the same time!) and I moved for good in the middle of the cold snap in January 16 (not particularly remarkable, but definitely a shock after that December).
Yeah last June was bad, but this May feels worse for some reason. I'm hoping for at least avg sunshine for June-July-Aug.
I think you said the below average sun in July and August last year didn't seem that bad?
I don't think any of our summer months will even reach 200 hrs this year, let alone average. Look at the stats for 1957. Other than June, it was an awful summer. I highly doubt this June will be anything like June 1957.
Economics has also been a factor behind it, places like Spain are just incredibly affordable, especially when the currency was stronger.

You're not wrong. It's so expensive to have a holiday in the UK. We went to Centre Parcs in March, and for 4 days it was £899 for 4 of us!
Even if the UK was cheaper, people would more than likely go abroad over the UK as the weather is so much better. There's nowhere in the UK where you can go and be guaranteed sunshine and heat.
it depends how you roll . I stayed in the Uk last year ,Dev and Corn - rain / cloud 4 out of 7 ...cottage for the week - it worked out cheaper than going abroad like for like - a cottage in Sardinia would have cost a fortune .
Obviously there are cheap holidays abroad - but you still have to pay good money for a decent location , the same can be said in the UK - you can have cheap holiday in Skegness .
You also have to allow for airport parking . Also helps if you live near an airport to avoid all that nonsense- if i lived near Gatwick i would be off every month lol
Airport parking is pretty cheap tbh. I've just paid £49 for ten days parking at the jetpark at Manchester Airport. Car hire at the other end at Alicante airport has cost about £240 though. Flights were £347 ish, and accommodation is free as it's my grans place.
We're going to Cyprus in September too, but that one wasn't so cheap.
We had a week in Devon in May 2015 for a wedding, and the weather was mostly very nice through the day.
Summer sun hours. Average is 621 between June and August. The last 10 years have been awful. The 10 years before that had a mix of above and below average years, and the cloudy years were nowhere near as bad saw even the 3rd sunniest year since 2007.
You're not guaranteed weather anywhere, but there's still nice parts of this country that a lot of people haven't bothered visiting, for example most people in the UK haven't had a trip to the Scottish Highlands, there's world class scenery up there. It's quite telling that most of the tourists here in North Wales, outside of holiday parks, seem to be older middle-class people.

Oh I love the UK, and have been pretty much everywhere on the mainland at least. Scotland is stunning, but is let down by it's crap weather. It's a great place to go walking though, and the people are lovely there too.

I can manage the weather, I think it compliments the landscape, what I can't handle is the midges! Probably why the Romans stayed out.
