Yes it must be because it doesn't fit at all with how I regard Buffalo for example!
So to work up a tan? I fail to see what's fun about 30C averages. I can handle 30C days but with such averages come at least 15 such days per month, some of those above 35 as well... ugh
Our heat wave in Örebro 2014 (26/12 in July looked like this):
So to summarize that period between Jul 5 and Aug 4 saw a month's worth of temps at 27.1/14.0. This was also at the airport which is far less urban and definitely had cooler nights compared to the suburbs where I lived at the time. Without AC and having the windows to the west it was pretty unbearable at times, especially without the sea breeze that Nyköping enjoys. Those of you living in hot climates with the AC turned on, your ancestors were pretty brave people
At Oxelösund's station (somewhat more maritime than here both during day and night) that summer certainly looked very different in comparison with 24.8/17.0. Technically warmer lol As it was, I think Nyköping is more similar to Örebro than Oxelösund in spite of the proximity during heat waves. At least the sea breeze coming from down there ease stuff off a bit. Two peninsulas to block off the tropical nights from getting real intense as well. Oxelösund's station (definitely not its downtown) had a 21.8C overnight low on 4 August 2014 for example. That's just crazy at these latitudes.
Your highs + our sunshine hours = Perfect Sydney summer
Even though I love swimming and the beach, but comfortableness is my first priority. Heck, one day or two with 40C wouldn't hurt either way...
