Chose Melbourne bt Mildura is very good too.

Mildura id very similar in many ways to mid elevation SW USA.

Places like Sierra Vista, AZ have almost identical monthly highs and lows,
similiar precip and even sunshine hours.
Interestingly, places in US SW with a similar climate are at 4000 to 5000 ft ASL
(1200-1500 m). Low elevation places, like Phoenix, are much hotter.

Mildura for the sunshine hours, consistent summers and warmer winters.

Yeah, the summers seem hot, but they're saved by the mild nights.
