Rainy summers but still warm to hot, and excellent lows to exclude it from muggy summers... where in NZ can beat that? Let me guess: Nowhere.

You mentioned Tauranga... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tauranga#Climate

Funny because Pontevedra is a better version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontevedra#Climate before making those statements be sure to check all of Spain.

Bonus 4 season Spanish climates with decent, very sunny summers and thunderstorms... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le%C3%B3n,_Spain#Climate / https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huesca#Climate

and the mildest of all, with sunny summers, excellent summer temps, and even many rainy days https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Coru%C3%B1a#Climate

yes, I see how Spain rather is hot or dry, or if not, it's cloudy and rainy. lmao even Valencia (although is drier) with one of the best Med. climates gets it's dose of summer rain and thunderstorms...
I have checked all of those climates. Pontevedra is a crappy cersion of Tauranga; too wet like I said, and the others, also like I said, were too hot in summer. Léon is very nice though, but could use a little more rain.

Pontevedra has a very bit cooler winters and slightly warmer summers, isn't that better? being also very, very sunny on summers, with a month with almost 300h of sun, that's more than anywhere in NZ!

Yes, it has more rain, that's why you say it's "crappier" ? lol, I see Pontevedra as akin to Tauranga. In fact if you see both have exactly the same means! in highs, lows, and annual mean.

Girona is too hot for you? seems perfect in summer, July is the warmest with 30/17 and 32mm of rain plus 285h sunshine hours, although it's about anyone's preferences I guess.

Btw what I wanted to say with the post is that this phrase: "Spain is rather too dry and hot in summers or too rainy and cloudy" is not true. Yes, Spain has many warm and hot, dry summers but also many from sunny to very sunny warmish and rainy summers. There are places in the north with cloudy summers, the cloudiest has about 190h in July, but even most Spanish oceanic climates have sunny summers.

The point still falls true. All of those you listed were either too dry, warm or like Pontevedra, too wet.

I want moderate climates. 24'C is great for a summer high. 26'C of Pontevedra is actually warmer than I'd like. Pontevedra has worse temperatures and is wetter than Tauranga, i.e. it's a crappier version.

Ok I see your point but bro, Pamplona and Girona are not dry in summer, from far, and they're very sunny too. The summer is the driest season for both, but still one has a Cfb climate and the other a Cfa.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamplona#Climate

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girona#Climate

But yes, for your likings both are too warm. Although they can't be classified as dry because their summers receive more than 120mm of rain, Girona 140mm! That's quite rainy.

What about Coruña? You didn't mention this one. I'm interested. Well that's true, according to your likings they're warm, I just wanted to see why you considered Pontevedra like that!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Coru%C3%B1a#Climate

Coruña also receives more than 110mm of summer rain, 19 rainy days and 708h sunshine hours in the 3 summer months. What about this one?

600-700mm is still, with those temperatures, still a bit on the dry side for my liking. Coruña is a bit too cloudy and to uneven with the rain distribution, so winters are really wet.

Default New Zealand

The north coast of spain and almost all of new zealand have almost the same cfb climate. but new zealand is closer to the equator which gives it higher sunshine hours.

Give me Spain any day -- New Zealand cannot get hot enough for my tropical blood -- beautiful for about 7 months of the year, although winter's rain and chilly gloom really chills me to the bone.

Neither one has my preferred climate types (Dfb/Dfc/Dfa) but overall I will have to go with New Zealand--especially with the wetter, cooler areas. Also has lots of lakes/rivers and interesting geography

Most areas of Spain are far too hot, too dry, and too sunny with little weather variation.
