I would think Vancouver's crystal clear summers would make up for the gloomy winters. I would be more than happy with both seasons. London just seems dull in comparison (climatically and scenery), but it gets props for being comfortable year-round. How many clear sunny days does London average vs. Vancouver?
The PNW sees a lot more blue skies in late spring, summer and early fall. Even winters see some of those crisp and clear days (very cold too). There are probably more gloomy days in winter too. Western Europe has a different pattern. The weather there seems more dynamic and the skies change a lot throughout the day. Even though, the climates look very similar on paper, they feel very different in reality. I think the weather in the PNW is more predictable. You can pretty much say what the weather will be during the day just by looking out the window.

Good points.
The relative lack of dynamic weather in the PNW, is a consequence of not being a true Cfb climate.
Unfortunately, the British Isles generally lacks the distinct 4 seasons and snow that I like but I do have a great appreciation for their wonderfully cloudy and humid climates.
Prince Rupert and Tofino in BC also are decent climates.
The PNW has a crappy climate...but anything beats the depressing climate of the British Isles
The British climate has that rare but perfect mix of oceanic....high latitude...frequent overcast skies...no summer heat...and wet cold winters ...to create a perfect nasty climate. No wonder the Brits are always so depressed and drunk.

Western Europe isn't usually that variable in the spring or summer. When Botev visited London and Paris, the conditions were not what would normally be experienced at the time of year.
October to March has variable conditions, peaking late autumn and early winter.
