Forgive my curiosity. What is the record snowthickness for Vancouver? It looks very wet in winter, so very high snowthickness must have been recorded.

Yes we have had several large snowstorms over the years. I think the record is around 65 cm.
I hate when it snows here in the city... on the mountains no problem.

I thought it would be higher than 65 cm.

I think it also depends where in the city. The airport down by the water at sea level would be about that amount. Other parts of the city would be higher depending on elevation and distance from the water.

For example,

İzmit has both warmer and drier winters than Vancouver but record snowthickness for İzmit was 90 cm, which was recorded in February 1929.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/İzmit

That's why I thought Vancouver would have higher record snowthickness.

That is the figure that I heard for the airport in recent times but it could have been higher in the past.

Pola was the Italian name fir that city. Initially Pola's population of 45,000 was largely made up of ethnic Italians. However, between December 1946 and September 1947, most of the Italian residents fled to Italy during the Istrian exodus. Subsequently, the city's Croatian name, ****, became the official name. Today the city of Pola or **** is officially bilingual, hence both **** or Pola are official names. Since the collapse of Yugoslavia in 1991, ****-Pola has been part of the newly created Republic of Croatia.

I don't think translation is an issue in the above post as written.
