Who were the indigenous folk of England before the Germans showed up? Aren't Celts from Germany also?

The term is used loosely, by definition it refers to a cultural and linguistic group orginating in the region of modern day Austria/southern Germany, that once dominated Europe. They even sacked Rome back when it was a small city state, the Romans never forgave them.

Over time they were conquered by the Romans, and displaced in Germany by people migrating southward from Scandinavia who spoke Germanic languages. The indigenous people of Britain were agricultural tribal people who adopted Celtic culture. As Celts on the continent disappeared they continued to thrive in Britain and Ireland. The Anglo-Saxons eventually pushed them out of most of England and into fringe areas like Wales, Cornwall and Scotland, and some also migrated to Brittany in France, the hint being in the name. Welsh, Breton and Cornish are essentially modern day versions of the ancient Brittonic language that would be displaced by English.

Important to point out that the native populations in England didn't necessarily disappear, contrary to the old genocidal theory, the Anglo-Saxon conquest was mostly cultural. As the natives mixed with the newcomers, although that's not to say that many Britons didn't put up resistance, because they did. That's where the legends of King Arthur originate from.

I believe the Celts were originally in England and were indigenous to the island before the Germanic people swarmed in. But I'm not too sure since there were Celtic speakers in Anatolia (Turkey) and Galicia (Spain)?

But yes, many ethnic English people would have German in them.

Celts were a cultural group and it was more of a spreadsheet do ideas than a spread of people. The culture originated in central Europe and spread in all directions. Some Celtic people did indeed spread to Spain and Turkey. Just about all of them were put under the Roman boot eventually, they just happened to cling on in Britain and Ireland. Which is why Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man and Brittany said to be the modern Celtic nations, since their origins are ultimately rooted in their Celtic pasts.

I know that Brittany is in France, but was named after migrants from the British Isles fleeing the Anglo-Saxons. You could say it was a British colony. The Breton language is a close relative of Welsh.

The English are, and always have been a mix of many different nationalities/peoples, the British Islands have been subject to immigration throughout its history, despite the hate it gets in reality the island is a very fertile place with a long growing season which was always appealing to historical peoples.

Exactly. And why not mention Italy, too, while we're at it, considering the vast Latin lexical influence in the English language?
