I remember reading that Concorde had to divert to Gander in the August 2003 heatwave to take on fuel.

It's because when the air temp hit's 48.9°C, it's outside the range for their lift/drag formulas for take off

Most planes were still flying even when the temperature hit 118°F yesterday.
It's just the Bombardier CRJ Regional Jets who are not allowed to start or land at these temperatures.

I just checked around Death Valley, looks pretty hot:




I've been in 110 F heat around Tucson-Yuma years back, but never higher than that.
