Briançon is a little city with 12300 souls, the highest in France at 1350m.

Since there's a stupid heat wave in France (I guess not only France), I was thinking about a city that I might like because the atmosphere is fresh and less humid, more easy to handle than Paris in summer (thank you RER D without AC ) but way more sunny and stable.

Here is the climate :

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian%C3%A7on#Climat

Infos in french: the city has 2500 hours of sun in average (including the shadow of mountains). Humidity index is in average around 40% due to the "altitude".

I like snow and ski resorts, I like sun when it's 24 degrees, I like mountains, so I thought about Briançon. If you can post equivalent -and I know they exist ! - ,post I want to see the place too (> 5000 inhabitants...)
I ll add that the atmosphere is extremely stable (thanks to the altitude), it's a very good spot for astronomy -no light pollution too-. I like to bring my telescope there in summer.

Edit: I rate B, because I'm a true french, never entirely satisfied

B: winters lows are a bit cold, otherwise it's good

If you don't like excessive heat, Brest is also good

Boring, too dry and too sunny. The summer lows are too cool and the winter highs too warm. C

Terrible, E because the summers have nice daily temps and sunshine, although even the summer nights are too cold.

It's too rainy, too cold year round, cold nights even in summer... E at most for me.

Well, it's one of the coldest city (not village ofc) in France lol
735 mm is quite dry....not humid at all, specially considering the city has a dry humidex lol. The vegetation is quite dry there, close to Mediterranean like. Because the Durance valley is oriented north-south, so the heat can come from the south and at the same time rain is stopped by the Ecrins mountain range.

But it has a lot of snow, and rain mainly comes from Thunderstorms in summer, I love that lol.

Mammoth Lakes, California is also good for people who like snow and sun. Sunshine is about 3000 hours per year.

Wow, it starts to be quite extreme lol. But I would rate that very well anyway.

I went there during the summer, I still remember the smell of trees around the hotel during a mild day of August. Amazing.

I didn't know it Was THAT snowy
