Smoke has really put a cap on afternoon temps. However, many places all around the south coast of BC and in western WA and OR had record warm overnight temps. Some places didn't even dip below 20C(68F)!
I love heat (30-35C), and the good thing about it here is that it always cools down to around 11-14C(52-57F) at night even during a heatwave . Last night, however, was horrific.

So sorry you are going through this - I remember! Albany, Oregon, today was supposed to get to 95F Degrees (which was suppose to feel like 100F), and smokey!
If you do want it a little warmer, just move south - Albany, Oregon, before we left, felt like Sacramento, California - heatwise...Once again thankful we live in Maine, even though ALL of us on the Eastern Seaboard are watching Hurricane Irma!
The hotspot in Canada today was Squamish, a town just north of Vancouver. The high was 38.2C(101F).
Been a brutal summer in the PNW and BC. The heat and dryness can be tolerable, but the smoke makes it really unpleasant. I had to deal with it the first week of August in Oregon. Hopefully some rain coming your way soon. Looks like there is a chance of showers later this week in Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver but I don't think it'll amount to much.
Warm and humid day today (low 80s) which ended with some pretty decent thunderstorms. Much cooler tomorrow with a forecast high of only 61 F/16 C with showers. I'd still say the best thunderstorm of the year was in February (of all months!)

Yeah...the smoke is terrible. Like I've said before I like the heat, but this is just gross. We may have to wait until late September until we see a large scale pattern change into more of a "fall-like pattern" which translates to rain almost every day. Of course, we have yet to start seeing the effects of a cool enso which favours cool and wet over the NW.
