Never ever feed seagulls. You will almost instantly have a million of them swarming all around you. One literally snagged a piece of pizza out of my hand while sitting on the beach once. And I didn't want the seagull to have it as I was about to bite into it. They are hogs.

Sounds nice there -looking forward to summer again.
summer is a great time Joe .

Beach is 7- 8 miles away ,but they come inland more and more to nest in chimney pots etc as their natural habitat is eroded away - noisy old buggers though .

Are there cliffs along your coastline ?

Ha Ha -this is a baby one and is basically stranded on the ground - the worst thing is every time you go near it the parents get a bit lively - then they put out a call - before you know it there are swarms of them divebombing you -

they;re very aggressive .

Yeah, we have a lot in the middle of town here, and we're about 20 miles from the sea.

But they are much worse on the coast, a lot more aggressive and often larger. I often wondered if this is also a big issue elsewhere in the world. They're a real nuisance here.

Not in the immediate area -there are some small (>100 metres) ones about 10km away, but the coast around here is mostly barrier islands, or hills coming down to the sea.

Gulls around here nest offshore, or in areas with no road access, so it's not common to see them nesting.

Not really -just around carparks where people eat lunch etc.

The shags have been a bigger problem, nesting on top of Norfolk pines, and slowly killing them.
