Cambridge roughly gets around 1500 (City) -1640 (Cavendish) hours of sunshine depending on sources ,so basically it's similar to London stations as far as i can see which kinda makes sense

Looking at 1970 ,1977 and a couple of more recent years it tells me each year has been sunnier in Cambridge than in Heathrow - they were just random picks btw
What is there to say, it's been abnormally cloudy the past 10 years. Nothing to do with the station being moved.
what i'm saying is that maybe it has been about the average but youre are expecting more because of the wikipedia total ? - but you will have to analyse those figures in depth -it's only what i found at frist glance -it would take me forever to go through the whole lot .
looked at a few more - London totals higher in 78 and 81 , 8 more years were even stevens - seems to be a close match .
Cambridge sun totals on wiki appear as 1,500 in both locations
Met office table seems to be going with 1632 for 1981 - 2010 - what were the averages for 1971 - 2000 ? maybe it has been a natural correction ? other than that ,no idea - faulty readings ? 2009 on historic looks weird vs Cambridge

The wikipedia total IS the average. 1500 hrs for here is poor.
If this is just going to turn into more nonsense about how the Met Office official figures are wrong, then I have nothing more to add.
Don't shoot the messenger - i'm trying to help . I agree it's very weird
Well i have looked at all readings of other sites and all i an see is averages about the norm or higher -so this is somethings as you say that affects Heathrow for some really strange reason .
If there was access to Kew it would be interesting to see if they have recorded similar low levels .
If i didn't know any different i would assume they have taken the more recent Heathrow readings from Hampstead and not listed it . That is the only thing that makes sense .
But i can assure you ,that the anomolies and averages maps seem to be fairly accurate .
