Meråker is a village in a valley just east, inland of Trondheim airport. 36C would be a new national all-time high. Current national all-time high is 35.6C from 1970, but that was recorded in the south of the country, at Nesbyen in a valley near Oslo.
Trondheim AP:
Forecast low of 23C / 73F the coming night (puh) and high 32C /90F tomorrow, then the heat is over and a more comfortable high of 23C tuesday.
Warning for forest fire in effect
