It's climate that's humid and subtropical... it just isn't a Cfa under the Koppen system. The labels of types create confusion.

It is, but it does not mean that it does not share traits with subtropical climates. Bologna this year will be mediterranean because we had no rain at all in July. Still, it's not a mediterranean climate (we still had -2c average low last january...). Depends on the year, like borderline subtropical / continental climates in the eastern US.
