Out of curiosity does anyone know if there is a way to convert between the 2 different systems used for sun hours? Or is it just a guesstimate sort of thing? Also, why does the US stick with this system as opposed to the one everyone else uses?

I always figured Bellingham would be worse in terms of sunshine hours though I know we do get more rain than both places. Weird the capital of the state doesn’t have any sunshine data...on Wikipedia anyway lol.

Thunder is so rare that it’s hard to say, can happen anytime really, even in summer, but I would say fall has the greatest chance.

Can't rate it because there's no sun hours but too hot in summer and probably too dull in winter

Winter here is pretty similar to what it’s like over there in England. Mild temps along with grey and rain most days. You can google the forecast and see for yourself. I wouldn’t say summer is too hot but there is usually like a 2 week period where it can get hot ~90f or so but luckily it’s not humid heat so it’s not terrible and it cools down significantly at night.
