I've tried to keep them within a range of each other, in other words if climates are too similar to another they're not included. Notable victims are Bogotá and Montevideo, the latter because its averages are way older than Buenos Aires and they're located very near each other. Older averages matter less when climates are equatorial such as Caracas. The protest vote is in particular reserved for Warszawa when he figures out Montevideo is not in there

So in short:

Brasília: highland very warm subtropical, quite wet and avg highs between 25-28C year round.

Buenos Aires: humid subtropical with temps similar to the Mediterranean basin.

La Paz: highest capital in the world, pretty much a tropical tundra! Insane UV strength but low temps.

Lima: Comfy maritime subtropical temps year round but with a strong sun that doesn't show up often due to a cloud layer. Desert climate with extremely low rainfall.

Paramaribo: The sole equatorial climate on this shortlist; being hot and monsoonal year round.

Quito: The pick ahead of Bogotá for its slightly higher temps and it being right on the actual equator.

Santiago: Oregon-like hinterland during summers, the only mediterranean-like climate of the bunch. Low summer night temps, but unlike Oregon or California there's no real winter rainfall, instead taking a semi-arid look.

As for me, my vote's for Santiago due to its lower humidity, notably lower UV strength and mild summer nights that bring the summer averages to my ideal 20C. I like Lima but would fear being fried whenever the sun comes out and 6 mm rainfall is frankly a little bit too little even for me ideally

Santiago.

Quito is a really close-call though.

Santiago. It's drier and has cooler summer nights than Buenos Aires--the only other somewhat decent climate. The others are all horrid climates.

Quito, of course, although Brasília is pretty good as well.

La Paz is terrible.

Brasilia
Perpetually warm but not hot, with a decent rainfall total with thunderstorms. Daily lows stay well below 20, unlike some of the other tropical climates.

Buenos Aires a close second.

Where's Asuncion? It's not really like any of the others

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asunción

That's one of the best tropical climates out there. Lots of sunshine all year, thunderstorms, not too many rain days for the rainfall amount, a definite dry season, even the occasional frost. It has enough variety while still being pleasantly warm and sunny much of the time.

Of the others Santiago is the best, it's not unlike inland Spain.

Paramaribo
From the list Brasilia is very nice too.
From the ones that aren't on the list Caracas, Georgetown and Asunción are also quite good.

Lol no need for the protest vote, I like Buenos Aires just as much

Santiago is a fantastic climate, just the nights are a bit chilly. However the airport is located in an underpopulated part of the city, maybe in Downtown Santiago it would be warmer at night. The lack of rainfall also hurts, Santiago is dusty and smoggy on the outskirts, whereas Buenos Aires is always lush and green

Brasilia and Paramaribo are nice but boring. Typical B climates

Quito's climate is overrated, its too chilly. Guayaquil is where its at

Lima is not as bad as everyone paints it out to be, but the humidity and the cloudiness ruins it
