That made an impression.
Sad, but still thank you for posting.
A bad or missing land use policy and intense and long-lasting heat with too little rain is clearly a bad combination.

Finally made it to the Alps, sadly only cellphone pics:

Zugspitze:

Went up there (Kramerspitze, elevation 1985 m, about 1300 m elevation gain):

Along the trail...

The peak is close now

The last few trees:

View to the north:

Respect to the one who installed that cross:

To the left you can see the trail:

I did it!

Nice! Looks like perfect weather for such a hike. Strange kudzuesque vegetation near the summit, looks like dwarf conifers?

I bet you could hear the noises of the town from all the way up, being just above it.

Thanks, and yes indeed! I could hear something tooting (the trains?) even at the top of the mountain. The dwarf trees are some sort of pine trees, no idea which...

lol, when I saw the Alpine architecture I assumed it was Botev's photos of that fake German village in Washington state. The mountains look a bit like the Cascades near that town.

Hard freeze tonight. Umeå Airport (frosthollow) managed -6.4'C! Other stations nearby stopped at -3 to -4'C.

How come there's never frost underneath things? Does it really stay above freezing underneath a trampoline or ia it the humidity that gets blocked? What's going on here???

Dandelions still alive. For some reason. These are early summer/late spring flowers and normally disappear in July and August. Then they reemerge in October. Last year they were still around in November.
