Not nearly as cold as yesterday morning here, but still some impressive temps were reached (given how early in the season it is):

-5C at NYC
-8C at ISP
-11C at FOK

Upstate not as anomalous this morning.

Göle had a low of -25.6*C today, which was the lowest temperature recorded in Turkey today.

Ardahan had a low of -18.9*C today.


As for current temperatures,

Göle is -14.9*C at 2:46 pm

Ardahan is -7.2*C at 2:57 pm

Anyone see a similarity of the pattern next week?

Similar setup to this from December 6-9 last week.

Only difference is the Atlantic Ridge is more west and the SE ridge more pronounced. We'll see.

Hard to believe, but the average high in NYC at this point is still 6C~the past three days NYC has not gone above freezing. Chilly weekend up ahead, and more seasonable weather coming next week
