December is the warmest month of winter east of the Mississippi. It's our coldest month (we have almost no seasonal lag here, hence our hottest month for high temps is June, but is July for low temps)

The freezing line at 5000' has pushed north all the way to near Montreal. Montreal is still in the teens & 20s at surface. So their snow is changing to sleet and ice now because of the warm layer above.
Tons of ice here in Northeast Connecticut. It's just nuts. Everything is encased in it, and our road looks like a hockey rink.
