Massachusetts and northwards was mild in Jan & Feb 2010 while the south was cold. Possible repeat of that pattern? Of course we were very cold beginning of January but now we're closer to average or only a little bit below

That was an el nino though was it not? El nini favors colder south
Currently here in Aurora, ME...26F Degrees, Dew Point 24F Degrees, Winds North 5mph, Wind Chill 20F Degrees...Snowing...
We drove into the snow this morning (about an 1-2"), on a once plowed, road...We drove home in a once plowed, road (of about 3+")! It was beautiful both ways...Thankful we arrived at work and home!

It’s been a pretty miserable winter here in the Midwest too, not even halfway through astronomical winter and many locations around the greater Indianapolis area have already seen 10 or more subzero low temperatures so far this winter, perhaps some areas have yet to even see the worst of the bitter cold.
