Euro12z has -11.6 so a tad less cold than previous run. Either way impressive airmass in PacNW
Last winter, we nearly had a persistent snowcover from early Dec thru early Mar. Ironically, even -11.6C @850mb would be colder than anything we saw last winter, even in Vancouver.

And high temperatures during the days should still be above freezing.

GFS shows Sunday, Monday and Tuesday afternoons to be below freezing for Vancouver. Sunday and Tuesday look to be above 0C for Seattle, but Monday is close.

Also...00z NAM shows temps dropping thru the day on Sunday with the arctic front (accompanied by snow). Shows 39F early Sunday morning dropping to 30F by 4pm for Seattle. Very unusual for this time of year and it actually looks like a legit arctic front, much like the ones we used to see.

Going by your genius logic, I should just choose a forecast when Seattle is warmer than Orlando in the winter. Yes it happens once in awhile, but that is pointless because it doesn't mean absolutely anything.

Massive rainfall last night. As of 6 am, I have received 2.25", bad ice jams on the creeks, lots of flooding from snowpack melt and heavy rain.

Looks like we may get snow from the east coast storm 2-4"? Maybe? I'll be at 7 Springs again this weekend, they are in the weather channels 5 to 8" zone, so looks like another great skiing weekend in Western Pennsylvania

I'm just happy to see arctic air hit the PNW. I hope it happens more and it will once the cold PDO comes back. you are not going to have every winter be stupidly above average every year you know. You had zero F once before, and you have had 86 days since 1900 where the low temp was 15F or below. Much colder than you get now. We didn't think real cold was coming back to us either, and yet somehow you come on here and claim never again will you get the cold you used to. BS. You will and I will relish it when it happens.

86 frickkin times Seattle has gone to 15 F or below. That would kill every single palm tree you have cause you don't get enough summer heat to provide the carbohydrates the trees need to survive that kind of cold in winter.

Southeastern US palms are much tougher than the PNW cause they get loads of summer, spring and fall heat which builds up huge amounts of carbs in energy in the trees fibers. That is true. Your palm trees don't and would bite the dust with one return of a 15F or lower night. And they will be back. Count on it.

Edit and many of those 86 times were temps in the single digits lol and low teens.
